Summary:
Responsible for handling inbound and outbound telephone sales inquiries regarding cataract and vision correction surgery, coordinating patient referrals with eye care providers, and scheduling appointments for patient consultations, exams and post-operative visits.
DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES CALL PROCESSING:
Give priority to inbound calls Initiate appointment reminder calls to scheduled patients daily.
Retrieve voice-mail every 30 - 60 minutes.
Perform outbound calls as inbound call volume permits to invite patient to schedule cataract evaluations.
Prep patient records for upcoming evaluations Triage patient calls to the appropriate personnel, including technicians and Medical Director.
Capture required patient demographics and perform data entry at time of inquiry to correctly create new patient record.
Collect necessary patient demographic data, such as, insurance card information.
Verify patient insurance.
Capture referral source.
Strategically schedule patient appointments to maintain smooth, consistent patient flow Document all inquiries and follow-up calls for medical, legal, and statistical purposes.
Complete appointment confirmations.

Establish and maintain an atmosphere of trust and honesty always maintaining confidentiality as defined by parties involved.
Seek out additional duties when assigned work has been completed and as call volume permits.
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Demonstrate outstanding listening skills Strong customer service orientation Excellent telephone skills Ability to work with multiple priorities Understanding of and experience with Windows software applications PREFERRED
Qualifications:
Demonstrate basic knowledge of Ophthalmology and/ or Optometry 1 year of Optometric and/ or Ophthalmic experience preferred Experience with general insurance aspects Basic knowledge of Nextech Practice Management system and EMR Ability to assist in billing aspects of the facility:
including insurance verification's, pre-authorizations, reconciling, billing and posting per company policy and as needed.
