Position Summary
Support and enable the inside sales work group by providing in-house technical consulting services. Collaborate with inside and outside sales to analyze and problem solve customer product inquiries. Identify and recommend fluid power components or systems.
Working Conditions
Office setting working at desk or workstation with computer terminal. Moderate to heavy phone/fax usage. Frequent interruptions.
Job Duties and Responsibilities (with percentage of time spent)
70% Technical Support and Consultation-
Support outside and inside sales personnel with technical product information, capabilities, projects, or questions.
Handle technical incoming calls that cannot be handled by the inside sales service group.
Consult with inside sales personnel to diagnose customer fluid power component problems and for product education and information.
Identify and recommended solutions or other alternatives for customer needs.
Coordination with suppliers to determine availability and technical uses of fluid power components.
Conduct product, catalog, and basic hydraulic training for the inside sales group, and attend supplier product training.

30% Inside Sales-
Develops accounts by checking customer's buying history; suggesting related and new items; promoting company products; explaining technical features.
Utilizes industry knowledge to stay abreast of competitive activities identifying sales opportunities.
Maintains and improves quality results by following standards; recommending improved policies and procedures.
Accomplishes department and organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Assist in the preparation and writing of customer work orders including special terms and pricing.

Requirements/Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
3 - 5 years industrial sales experience preferably in fluid power. BS/BA in Engineering preferred. Certain openings may require fully bilingual (Spanish/English) capabilities.

Knowledge of:
Hydraulic circuits
Word, Excel, Outlook, CAD, and Internet
Product Line
Fluid power systems and components

Skilled in:
Providing inside sales support by phone and in person with friendly/cooperative attitude
Communicating effectively verbally and in writing
Organizing assignments on daily and weekly basis
Attention to detail/accuracy
