BIG DATA Careers is currently seeking an experienced sr. speechtechnologist for a client of ours. Candidates can work either out of Denver, CO, Portland, OR or San Francisco, CA. H1 B visa transfer available.
Qualifications!
o Strong practical and theoretical background in pattern recognition or related field
(e.g. speech recognition)
o Ability to develop and implement new or derived algorithms within the limitations of
low-power and embedded platforms
o Ability to follow and act on cutting edge ideas and research in spoken language
systems
o Ability to prosper and work collaboratively with an innovative technology
development team
o A generalist, rather than a specialist, with proven ability to learn from related fields
Primary Duties/Responsibilities
o Contributing to research and development of embedded spoken language systems
o Develop, experiment and benchmark advanced algorithms for spoken language
systems
o Contribute to spoken language systems to be state of the art, with an
emphasis on accuracy, speed and footprint.
Requirements
o MSc. with a focus on pattern recognition or statistical modeling
o Demonstrated ability to lead technology evolution with disciplined processes shown
by papers and past accomplishments
o Demonstrated ability in pattern recognition systems, particularly, in data driven
statistical and machine learning systems
o Demonstrated ability in speech recognition and speech understanding
o Experience in at least one commercial/open source speech recognition system
o Strong knowledge of C
Preferences

o PhD. with a focus on pattern recognition or statistical modeling

o Experience in Finite State Transducer technologies (e.g.OpenFST)

o Fundamental understanding of signal processing

o Strong knowledge of Tcl and/or other scripting language!

o Familiarity with linguistics, particularly in phonetics

o 3 or more years of experience in industry
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
