Job Description
BIG DATA Careers is currently looking for an experienced My SQL administrator / architect for a contract need we have with one of our client in South West Florida.
Help us analize and improve our Database engine platform and structures in general:
. Analize possible improvements on the technology used to store historical data (NoSQL, Elasticsearch, etc)
-Analize the impact of possible Data backend changes on our applications: coding, usage and performance
Analize possible migrations to cloud provider (AWS / RDS) and the impact of performance: how to dimension the new instances, difference in performance with bare metal, elasticity and periodicspace optimizations analysis, seamless migration path for large amount of data
The following specific tasks are more or less independent from the previous and should be addressed once we have answers to the main topics:
-Re-design our data backup procedures
-Optimize MySQL configurations (InnoDB vs MyISAM, buffers, temp tables, etc)
-Extend the use of MySQL Database partitions to improve the clean and optimize mechanisms
-Unification of Database engines:
MongoDB an great plus.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
