About the Job
We're looking for a world class Senior QA Engineer to help validate and verify applications for the Security Organization at Akamai Technologies Inc. We are looking for a highly technical individual experienced with software testing best practices but also who can collaborate with both local and remote development teams in an agile development environment.
About the Team
Our software underpins the Security BU and its portfolio of solutions that constitute Akamai's Security Products. These include security monitoring, mitigating and reporting applications. These provide distributed protection from both DDoS and application specific web attacks with on-demand scalability. Akamai's global footprint of over 100,000 servers provides an overlay network with scale and capacity to not just deliver the largest web events but also secure the largest Internet brands from attack. The team builds and extends Akamai's highly fault-tolerant wide area distributed content delivery and application acceleration systems to improve performance, security, reliability and availability of high value web sites. Akamai powers over 85% of the top online retailers, with over $100 billion in annual revenue.
Responsibilities
Analyze application, specification and design documents to determine test scenarios.
Design and build test environments to cover functional and performance test scenarios.
Write test plans, test cases and test reports.
Execute tests to ensure quality of the application under test.
Manage defects through resolution.
Work with product, project and development teams across multiple locations.
Work with system engineering to push releases through production and perform production verification .
Work with automation team to automate application test.
Required Education and Experience
3yrs experience and a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or a related field or
5yrs experience in software quality and/or development engineering and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or a related filed.
Required Skills
Hands-on experience with UNIX/Linux Operating System.
Experience testing network focused applications.
Desired Skills
Experience in C/C++/Java based application testing.
Experience with shell scripting.
Experience working with RDBMS.
Experience working with Selenium.
Experience testing widely distributed, data-driven applications.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent problem solving/troubleshooting skills.
Experience writing comprehensive test cases/plans.
Experience with JIRA for bug tracking/project management.
Experience with MySQL/Oracle/Cassandra databases.
Experience with SVN and GIT.
Familiarity with Jenkins.
Experience with troubleshooting C/C++/Java applications.
Experience testing network focused applications, security appliances.
Experience testing applications in an agile development environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and as a member of a cross-team project group.
Creative problem solving abilities.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
