As Supervisory Examiner, the incumbent serves as part of the Field Territory management team and is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the work of a team of Examiners. At the full performance level, major duties include:
Serving as the first line supervisor who manages and develops a team of examiners. Planning and preparing schedules for completion of work. Prioritizing and assigning work to subordinates based on priorities, capabilities, and developmental needs of employees. Assessing work performance and related behaviors, seeking to secure correction of deficiencies noted, and promoting continued employee improvement. Supervising and participating in examinations of insured depository institutions, including examinations that are large, complex, or exhibit problem characteristics. Performing activities related to the review, analysis, and processing of reports of examination, applications, and other duties of an administrative nature. Establishing and maintaining a close working relationship with banks, regulatory agencies, and other divisions within FDIC. Meeting with bank officials and/or board of directors to discuss examination findings. Providing technical advice, counsel and guidance to examiners on the coverage and preparation of large and/or difficult examination reports. Responsibility for the quality of reports of examination produced by Examiners. Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Applicants must meet one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade 12 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience performing and leading examinations of insured depository institutions and evaluating the safety, soundness and risk posed to the insurance fund. CM-01:
Applicants must meet one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade 13 level in the Federal service. In addition to specialized experience identified at the grade 13 level, specialized experience is experience directing or reviewing insured depository institutions examinations; leading teams in activities related to the examination process; and collaborating with state banking authorities, and other federal regulatory agencies on bank examinations. Candidates must be a Commissioned Risk Examiner in the FDIC or another organization with comparable commissioning criteria used by the FDIC's Division of Risk Management Supervision. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
